I've always loved stationery. My favorite time of year was—is—school supply shopping for the new academic year. Despite my mother being a fifth grade teacher, which meant there was no shortage of office supplies in our home, my favorite part of Back-To-School was picking out my notebooks, binders and pencils—not new clothes. The idea that writers must have an aesthetic around their writing was one that I attached myself to early, and one that I still love dearly.
